Associate Counsel, Law Offices of M. Gabriel Nahas, Jr., September 1983 to February 1988. Handled primarily criminal and some family law litigation in Harris, Montgomery, Galveston, Brazoria and surrounding counties before jury and bench.

Staff Attorney, Roxbury Defenders Committee, Boston, Massachusetts, October 1979 to July 1981. Represented 230 clients in 21 month period in felony prosecutions involving armed robbery, rape, attempted murder, drugs and weapons offenses in Roxbury District Court and Massachusetts Superior Court, Suffolk County from appointment to appeal. Appeared before Massachusetts Appeals Court and single justice session of Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court.

Legal Intern, Massachusetts Defenders Committee, Boston, Massachusetts, summer 1978. Represented 62 clients in misdemeanor and some felony cases under supervision in the Boston Municipal Court for non-jury trial or other hearing.
